Everyone experiences suffering from time to time. Relationships end, careers end, our bodies age and change. These changes which are beyond our control can lead to hopelessness and depression. The light in this is that the dark chapters of life are often the ones that lead us to yoga or deepen our practice.
Yoga Wisdom provides us with a new perspective of life and the ability to experience challenges with hope and faith. In this course we will explore yogic techniques to help navigate depression and the gifts that are waiting for us on the other side. Sri Dharma Mittra often says, “the bliss you get from the outer forms - your family, your friends, your job, your hobbies is NOTHING compared to the bliss of knowing the Self.”
Challenges in life help us release our outward search for happiness and turn inward to discover the eternal happiness that rests within us. Through this course we will learn how to hold space for ourselves during times of suffering, release codependency and develop a beautiful loving relationship with our own hearts.
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), by 2030 depression will be leading cause of disability worldwide. This is a course for EVERYONE! If you are in a medical treatment this course does not intend you to leave it. We encourage your treatment and wish to offer more tools for you.
What to expect on each session of this course: 1. Root of depression: separation/unworthiness and Self Knowledge as the true remedy 2. Holding Space for All Experience: Emotions without aversion 3. Befriending Shame + Jealousy 4. Forgiveness - From Judgement to Wonder 5. Radical Acceptance/Surrender 6. Bhakti 7. Staying Inspired: Community, Reflection + Stories 8. Summary Q + A. (Community, honesty, humility)
