DEEP PRACTICE RETREAT
WITH MOLLY BIRKHOLM AND SWAMI KASHI

 “May you live in interesting times”, is an old saying that can be considered both a blessing and a curse.  Adversity is, after all, the common denominator of all “interesting” times.  Transformation requires a ‘breaking up’ of old ways and paradigms for something new to emerge.

We now find ourselves in the midst of “interesting” times where the world as we know it is dramatically changing, an experience that can evoke fear, trauma, and stress.  What can also take life during these times are the seeds of creativity and innovation, as well as opportunities to find strength in our weaknesses, wisdom in our pain, and compassion in our heartache.  


We are very happy to offer this virtual deep practice retreat with Swami Kashi and Molly Birkholm to support our global community amidst this individual and collective experience of transformation.  Together, we will practice meditation, breathing, yoga asana, yoga nidra, guided mindfulness meditation, dance, chant, discussion, and creativity sessions.  For three days, we will keep a retreat schedule with both guided experiences and free time to rest, relax in nature, cook nourishing meals, and explore creative practices. 
 
All levels are welcome. ​

Molly Birkholm is a speaker, consultant, yoga and iRest Yoga Nidra teacher trainer, trauma educator, published author, and international show host. Molly’s stress management programs, resilience training, and trauma treatment programs are used by leaders and top organizations around the world, including the US Department of Defense, JPChase, McKinsey & Company, and the Young Presidents’ Organization. She is the co-founder of Warriors at Ease, which has trained over 2,000 teachers who share yoga and meditation to 65 military bases and VA Centers. She helped pioneer evidence-based trauma-sensitive yoga and meditation programs for PTSD in the military and other communities affected by trauma, including human trafficking survivors and homeless communities. She is also an iRest Yoga Nidra teacher trainer. Molly teaches trainings and retreats around the world and also online on The Great Courses and as a Featured Teacher & the host of the Women’s Empowerment Initiative on Yoga International. She's also the co-host of the podcast Conversations Matter, where she and Hans Hickler focus on meaningful relationships founded on deep connection and communication.

​​​Swami Kashi Muktananda has been living in the Himalayas of India and Sivananda ashrams for the past 20 years. He learned Sanskrit, Hindi, and Vedanta philosophy from his guru, Swami Chaitanyananda of Uttarkashi, a direct disciple of Swami Sivananda. His down-to-earth approach and loving nature make him an ideal bridge between the ancient yogic teachings and a Western audience.

All levels are welcome.  We have attempted to optimize schedule times to make ‘live’ experiences as accessible as possible for the global community in various time zones.  We will also be recording all sessions so that participants can practice on their own time. 

Retreat activities will start at:
6:00 am MEXICO CITY / BOGOTA
7:00 am NYC / MIAMI (main time for schedule purpose)

12:00 pm LONDON

2:00 pm TEL AVIV


Retreat Schedule (NYC/MIAMI Time zone):
7:00 am Morning Satsang (meditation & lecture) with Swami Kashi
8:30 am Tea break
8:45 am Pranayama and Asana Practice (90 min) with Molly
10:15 am Lunch Break 
11:15 am Group discussion (60 min) will not be recorded 
12:30 pm Creativity practices & Yoga Nidra with Molly
1:45 pm Lecture with Molly & Swami Kashi
We finish every day with the chant of the Hanuman Chalisa

Supplies:  YOU are all that is required.  However, a yoga mat, meditation cushion, blanket, pillow, and any other comforts that help you feel supported can help your experience.  You may also want to create an alter with a candle, flowers, fruit, and objects that are symbolic or important to you.  A journal and any art supplies that support your unique creative expression may also be helpful.  We encourage you to stock your home with healthy, nourishing food so that you can create healing retreat meals without leaving home. 
 
What you put into the experience creates the experience you will get out of it.  Please make a commitment to turn off your phone, email, and social media during the retreat so you can be fully present.

*If you cannot connect to a session, the link to the audio recording of the class will be sent to you and will be available for download for 2 weeks after the experience

CANCELLATION POLICIES
​- For the course to happen, at least 15 people must register, otherwise the course will be canceled and the money will be returned.
- Once the course has been paid, there will be no refund.
